Return & Refund Policy
Last revised: 2 June 2026
Bespoke garments cannot be restocked — a jacket cut to your shoulders fits nobody else. So instead of a generic returns page, here is a plain statement of what we will do when something is not right. The short version: we fix it.
1. Our fit promise
If a finished garment does not fit as agreed at your final fitting, we adjust it at no charge, as many times as needed, within ninety days of collection. This is not a favour; it is the standard the atelier is built on.
2. When a remake is due
If an adjustment cannot achieve the agreed fit — a cutting error on our side, or cloth that has failed — we remake the garment at our cost, in the same or equivalent cloth, as a priority job. Remakes are rare; the two-fitting process exists precisely to catch problems while they are still chalk lines.
3. When refunds apply
- Before cloth is cut — cancel any commission for a full refund of your deposit, no questions asked.
- After cutting, before completion — the deposit covers cloth and work done; we will refund any portion not yet consumed and itemise it in writing.
- Defective workmanship that we cannot remedy — full refund, including deposit. In fourteen years this clause has been used twice; we keep it because it keeps us honest.
4. Alterations
If an alteration we performed does not match what was agreed, we redo it free within thirty days. If an alteration is impossible to perform safely, we will say so before starting rather than experiment with your garment.
5. Kids uniform orders
Uniform pieces are checked against the school's specification and your child's measurements at collection. Sizing issues reported within thirty days are adjusted free; growth spurts after that are handled at our standard alteration rates (programme clients receive priority slots each January).
6. What is not covered
- Changes of mind about cloth, colour or style after the garment is completed to the approved specification.
- Damage from laundering contrary to the care briefing, third-party alterations, or accidents.
- Normal wear — though repairs are quoted at fair rates, and we enjoy giving old garments new life.
7. How to raise an issue
Bring the garment in, or email [email protected] with a photo and a description. You will have a human answer within one working day and a plan within three. Refunds, where due, are returned by the original payment method within fourteen days.
